It is my personal concern that esteem is becoming increasingly important in the world of work. Every person deserves to receive his performance and ideas perceived and appreciated – especially in projects. But sometimes the challenge is to identify and recognise the needs of the counterpart.
To overcome this hurdle, there are different ways. First of all, one should always try to think into the position of the opposite and to understand his view. This can help to get to know others better and stay empathy. Another step is to get feedback regularly – not only from the project manager or the supervisor, but also from the affected colleagues. Only in this way you get a more comprehensive overview of all opinions and views and can thus find a solution together.
My experience has helped me to say “thank you” more often! It may seem simple, but often someone feels better perceived and respected by it alone.
In summary, it can be noted: appreciation has a high priority – especially in projects. In order to respond to the needs of the counterpart, it helps above all understanding, regular feedback and of course also recognition and praise. I invite everyone to take these points in daily dealing with colleagues and customers!
